Our Host -- Valerie Pringle

Valerie PringleValerie’s distinguished career was jump-started in 1974 at Toronto radio station CFRB. After a few short years, she landed her own show called The Pringle Program. In 1984, she moved to CBC where she co-anchored Midday for eight years before joining CTV’s Canada AM in 1993. There she spent eight and a half years as co-host. For the past four-and-a-half years, Valerie has been traveling the world as producer and host for the travel show Valerie Pringle Has Left the Building for CTV and CTV Travel.

Some of Valerie's other credits include co-writer/producer and host of After the Fall, the clean-up of the World Trade Towers, for Discovery Channel and TLC. She’s also a six-time Gemini Award nominee and winner of an Alumni Award of Distinction from Ryerson Polytechnic University, 1998, Television Arts program.

As the series host, Valerie helps guide viewers through the Roadshow process with the natural charm and warmth for which she is so well known. “I wanted to do this show because I see it as a wonderful slice of Canadiana. I love the image of people with their family heirlooms and treasures telling their stories.”

Valerie is also actively involved as a volunteer and National Spokesperson for the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research and Chair of the Board of the Trans Canada Trail.
